If the focus of the court is following the core values and the mission, then I would like to believe that they are doing best practices. The mission is to provide fair and impartial justice within the jurisdiction. Some of the core values are equal justice, rules of law, judicial independence, accountability, excellence, and service. Equal Justice provides treatment of dignity to all with respect. This means that fairness impartiality in the justice system. Rules of law decisions that are made publicially can be visible and is faithful to the law. Accountability makes sure that all of the resources are utilized effectively and efficiently. The service make sur that those are being faithful to all duties are required and providing dedication to the jurors court users and the public in the proper time fashion. And finally providing excellence to adherence to the highest jurisprudential and administrative standards.What could be done to improve current Supreme Court practices? One of the suggestions is to clarify exactly what the role of the Supreme court is. Establish merit-based selection of judges. Change the confirmation process. Impose term limits for justices and regularized vacancies. Mandate strong ethics rules and recusals of Supreme Court Justices. So many questions arise when it comes to the Supreme Court. Some may say is it necessary to still have this court? With this being said how can we improve the Supreme Court? It has been noted that having cameras inside the court, changing the ways that they communicate with the American people, protect the minorities. I think that a lot of the way that the people have viewed the Supreme court and how they think that things need to change comes from them having the ability to make their own rules. Who makes sure that they are not overlooking cases that should go up to them? Who ensures that those 80 cases that are being reviewed shouldn’t really be 800 cases? We do need something in place where random situations should be carefully reviewed by someone else that makes sure that those who are on the panel are fair. So looking at what the Supreme court and how they have the ability to be able to make decisions on topics such as abortions, affirmative actions and affordable care act and marriage equality.Terry U.S. Supreme Court and the Criminal Justice SystemThe Supreme Court is the highest court in America. The court is composed of nine Justices, out of the nine justices there is one Chief Justices, is used as a tiebreaker. When other justices are at odds with each other.“Article III of the Constitution establishes the federal judiciary. Article III, Section I states that ‘The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one Supreme Court, and such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.’ Although the Constitution establishes the Supreme Court, it permits Congress to decide how to organize it. Congress first exercised this power in the Judiciary Act of 1789. This Act created a Supreme Court with six justices. It also established the lower federal court system.”Learning how, when, and where the court was established gives a bigger picture of why laws are made and interpreted. The court is the highest court in the land has jurisdiction over the states supreme court. They have the power to overturn a verdict passed down by a lower court.One of my favorite things was studying my Miranda Rights and getting a better insight into why they should be in effect. These rights protect the arresting officer as well as the defendant. Every citizen in America should study their Miranda Rights.The U.S. Supreme Court is stressed because of the case volume; it is increasing daily, although they choose what cases to hear. The justices are stressed out, and my opinion does not make a rational decision all the time. Some of the justices if not all of them to be effective by public opinion, news media, social media, friends, congressmen, and women, as well as family members.Criminal justice in America needs an overhaul very badly. It appears this system is still operating off system that was established in the past. Laws that were established in the past need to be updated, to keep up with the future.“We need to take the necessary steps now to ensure that our criminal justice system is a place to help reform those who are incarcerated for violent crimes. Those offenders who are not violent offenders are the ones that need consideration for early release and not to simply hold them until their sentences are finished for crimes that were not violent and were unfairly made too long.
